This year in History we will be pulling information from a variety of sources. I will provide students will all necessary handouts to complete their course work. As the year moves along I will provide pages that outline “Information on the Text” so that both students and parents may have access to the bibliographical information on our class readings.
The primary source book we will be using is titled World History: Patterns of Interaction (ISBN 0-618-10823-8). If students would like to buy their own copy to have at home that would be great. They can be found used on Amazon for around $15.
*note the review in the image is not on the book but linked to the company that shipped the item. I have used this text at both the high school and middle school levels and when supplemented it does a great job outlining the information for Ancient World History.
This publisher has recently published an iBook available only for Ipad that I feel is excellent. It has a good number of videos, sound files, and images to go with each chapter. I feel that this is the new direction of textbooks and that by the time our students reach the college level most books will have this format option. The cost of this is also around $15 which I feel is a good deal.
As I stated I will provide all the necessary reading materials for the students in class but I just wanted to share these options with you. I will continue to post links to all the material that we will be using in class this year.
